I don't want your FREE-dom!
"Crap, has anybody seen my shoes? The silver flats?"
Girl, all I want right now is you-hoo, Doo doo doo-oo!
"Don't you have them on?"
"That's only the left one..."
This is Etsuko's fault. Then again, I should have known better. Last year, I attended her first BYOS party, a much smaller affair that nonetheless left us all with the burning question, "Did I pay?"
This time we sampled 13 bottles, three of which were mystery sake courtesy of Robert-Gilles. I arrived a bit late and foolishly tried to play catch-up without properly fortifying myself with food first. I can recall, albeit hazily, the 3 mysteries, the Kagatobi Muroka Namazake I brought, and Etsuko's Chioyomusubi...Tamami and Ai brought some really nice Honjozo and Junmai from Zuiyou. I'm not so sure about the rest.
One thing is clear - I have not outgrown my fondness for dancing on chairs. It's a karaoke thing, you wouldn't understand.
Etsuko, thank you for organizing such a fun event. I apologize for my shenanigans.
Robert-Gilles, thank you for the latest round of mystery sake mayhem. You really are a tricky one - how could you know about my soft spot for futsuu-shu? I promise to send you my comments soon.
Anyone who's curious should check out the Tokyo Sake Meetup Group. Don't be afraid, I promise to be on my best behavior next time.

What she said. 12:30 am, husband in a dull stupor brought on by too too much sake, as six women jump on the karaoke room couches singing "Like a Prayer." Oh, and the sake rocked.
So funny! On the way back, we were wondering where your next destination is.It was fun and lots of sake, all good ones!
Ladies!
If I were you I wouldn't care a bit about shenanigans!
Would you believe that in laid-back Shizuoka, it is the men we have to control!
Wonder why...
Tomorrow I have been invited by the Shizuoka toji totheir private "kampyokai"!
On Friday I visit Isojiman Brewery.
Next week I go to New Caledonia and Kyoto.
Plan to write about it although it is not Shizuoka!
Cheers again girls!

Jocelyn,
Thank you for sticking with me that night. Your poor husband, though.
Etsuko,
Your parties are too much fun. Really. I have to write "slow down" on my right hand or something.
Robert-Gilles,
How was the kampyoukai? Love Isojiman, so will be looking forward to reading up on your visit. Have a great time on your vacation!!!
Jude, Jude, Jude,
How I miss you!
xoxox Mel
